A Good Donkey Tale

What with my brother in town and craziness at work, I haven't had time to write a real blog post (and won't for a couple more days), but I did want to recommend this good Jon Katz article on Slate about his donkeys during their recent snow storm. Jon's great at capturing a lot of the same experiences Annie and I have had, moving from the city to the country, and this latest installment is highly recommended as well.

There ought to be a support group for urban/suburban dwellers that move to a rural setting. My wife and I did the same thing about 5 years ago and I sometimes question my sanity when I step back and look at my life now. Anyone who says they want to move to the country for the simplicity of the life just doesn't have a clue. I never had to obsess about soil alkalinity and diagnosing a sick horse when I lived in the 'burbs. I had people that could do it for me.

it cracks me up that you have a posting category titled "donkeys." How many other blogs can say that, I ask you? How many?
