Brokeback Pasture

Oooo, Milagro, perhaps if I blow in your ear ...

We think maybe one -- or more -- of our geldings are, shall we say, "playing for the other team". Or maybe they were just auditioning for a guest role in "Brokeback Mountain", I dunno. Here's the photo so you can decide for yourself if the kissing is sincere or just part of an audition.

Oh, to be able to listen in to that conversation... "Hey, think we can break outta this place?" "Hey, we got it pretty good here -- nice folks, lots food and plenty of entertainment with cement trucks mangling up gates..." Of course, they could just be up to male horse bonding or whatever it is they do in the equine kingdom.

Jeff, I went to the waiter's blog. It's quite good, but it made me sad, especially the one about the lady who came in and had just lost her child. Good replies from readers of the blog, too. However, I would say yours is head and shoulders above that site, especially in the quality of the writing of the blog's owner.

Whew thank God you didn't include my horse. While he is not the brokeback mountain type, he does think he is a donkey... gulp..

btw I still need shock therapy after seeing that movie. It is not a love story and should not have won a Golden Globe!!! aaahhhh

Jill -- somebody told me it was just a love story for everybody. I'm sensing that's wrong?!

What these two ponies are really saying is: "you've really let yourself go. Why are you so fat??"

Denise,
Brokeback Mountain is about one guy that has sex with any man that will have him (this guy moved to Texas of all places) and the other guy not admitting that he really wants other men so he waits around for this other dude to come back and visit Brokeback mountain to “go fishing” a.k.a. have sex for one week out of the year.. I could go on but I can assure anyone out there that this is not a love story and is quite honestly soft porn.. in the er.. homosexual side of life... oh there are sex shots with their wives but even they have gay sex connotations.
With that said, the actors did a great job acting however there is no story line other than these two guys wishing, waiting, wanting, and then finally meeting up with each other. The theatre I saw the movie in is quite possibly the most liberal arts minded place you could find in San Antonio. At the end of the movie we were sure that people would say something or clap.. Nothing happened. Everyone left without saying a word because even people that live that lifestyle seemed disturbed. It honestly doesn’t portray gay men in a very enlightening way and makes it seem that gay men can get married, have children and still have their secret homosexual life.. no matter who it hurts. Just my honest opinion.. don’t waste your money…

Milagro is saying, "Honestly Avalon do you think my butt is getting too big. I mean it seems that month after month I add on the pounds.. you know the other day Annie came over and wrapped this tape around me and proclaimed that I was FAT. am I fat? Am I? huh huh? You would tell me wouldn't you pretty boy?... even though you are getting pretty chunky yourself ya big lug! kiss kiss hugs hugs!!"

Thanks, Jill. I try to be open minded in the movies, but this is one where I was really hesitant. Now I'll save my money, stay home, and watch "The Sandlot" again! I love a good love story, but "real" people don't seem to like this movie very much. Thank you so much -- it's a rainy, icky afternoon and we're headed to the movies. I think we'll see "Glory Road" because I love those kinds of underdog movies.
